What we do

Our Lift Services

Installation

New lift installation

When you’re installing a lift, either in a new building or an existing structure, you need an independent lift company that you can trust with your lift installation services. There are a wide range of reasons you might need a lift installed in your building, whether it’s improving accessibility in public buildings, shopping centres, distribution centres or healthcare facilities; building an extension and improving property value in an existing home or private property by adding bespoke passenger lifts; or as part of a new construction project your team is working on.

Whatever the reason you require a lift installed, you need to feel confident that you’re working with a commercial lift company that has the knowledge and expertise to offer a quality service, which is where Sheridan Lifts comes in. We are professional lift consultants with years of experience in lift installation, the unique challenges of the lift industry, and the benefits of lift installation, so we have an incredibly strong understanding of the different problems many of our clients face.

Maintenance & repair

Lift Maintenance

When you have a lift installed in your property, whether it’s an upgrade to the property, a new build or replacing an older type of lift, you need to be confident that it will be well maintained going forward, and that you have a trusted organisation in the lift industry on your side offering repair services should your lifts break down or become unstable. At Sheridan Lifts, we offer passenger lift, residential lift, service lift and platform lift repairs, and lift maintenance contracts in Manchester, Leeds and the North West. Our team can help give you peace of mind that you’re covered in the event of lift breakdowns, and that lift maintenance services will be carried out on a regular basis.

Obviously, lift safety is of paramount importance for any building manager, whether you’re the building owner or an independent contractor. Lifts that aren’t regularly maintained are not only often in breach of legal requirements, but they are also much more likely to have common lift malfunctions or break down, costing you more time and money in the long run. Even more importantly, however, is the safety of your lifts for users, which can’t be ensured without regular visits from a lift maintenance company.

Repairs

Lift Repairs

Sometimes, no matter how well-maintained your lifts are, there will be parts that need to be repaired, and breakdowns that need to be fixed. At Sheridan Lifts, we offer a range of lift repairs as standard in our lift maintenance contracts, but we are also happy to help carry out one-off repairs for businesses in Manchester, Leeds and across the North West, London and the South and Birmingham and the Midlands. Our experienced team of lift engineers work closely with a range of businesses and individuals in these areas, giving them peace of mind knowing that, should they require lift equipment repair or professional services from a team of lift experts, the Sheridan Lifts team will be on hand to help.

Lift breakdowns can happen to any type of lift, including tail lifts, passenger lifts, car lifts, service lifts and many others. Frequent lift maintenance can make your lifts less likely to need repair services, but there is always a risk that your lift can break down. As well as disrupting regular service and operations, lift breakdown can be traumatic for passengers who get stuck and dangerous for other users as well. At Sheridan, you can get lift repair services out to your location quickly and efficiently, in order to reduce the impact lift breakdown has on your business and get you back on track as quickly as possible!

Since 1979

Three generations.
One standard.

Stanley Sheridan founded the company in 1979. Three generations later, it’s still family-run, from our head office in Manchester and our southern office in St Albans, with engineers across Manchester, London, Sheffield, Liverpool and the Midlands.

We install between 150 and 300 lifts a year and look after a service portfolio of around 4,500 units. Housing associations, hospitals, factories, hotels  if it goes up and down, we’ve probably fixed one like it.
