Sensitivity, not just skill

A hospital corridor is not a building site.

Installing a lift in a hospital or care home comes with a level of decorum that most sites do not demand. There is constant traffic, patients within earshot, and infection control to respect. Every one of our engineers is trained for it, and it is the part of the job we are proudest of.

We work in line with Department of Health guidance, and we are accredited by the Lift and Escalator Industry Association with an
Acclaim accreditation for health and safety.

Lifts that suit healthcare

Beds, equipment, samples, trolleys, people.

Accessibility in healthcare is not a nice-to-have. Everything and everyone has to move between floors reliably, and each of those loads wants a different lift.

25+ car sizes · 4–33 person
Passenger lifts

Used across hospitals, laboratories and care homes. With over 25 car sizes and layouts, a passenger lift fits most parts of most buildings — and bespoke models cover the rest. Designed to last decades, so patients, visitors and clinicians all reach the right floor without delay.

To 3,000 kg · beds & goods
Goods passenger lifts

Moves goods and people in the same shaft — food, medical equipment, patient beds ward to ward. That means you avoid installing an extra passenger lift and keep the floor area it would have cost you, while nothing arrives damaged.

To 450 kg · 12-monthly
Dumbwaiter lifts

Found in hospitals and laboratories across the UK. Light and medium loads up to 450 kg — medication, samples, linen — on electric motors and automatic systems with far more secure modern tracks than the units they replace.

01 / Accessibility for patients

Independence is part of the treatment.

Bed-bound patients, manual and powered wheelchair users, people who cannot manage stairs, patients attached to IVs and machinery that cannot be carried — all of them depend on a lift working.

For patients on medium to long stays, being able to move freely and comfortably with a degree of independence supports their mental health as well as their physical recovery. It also makes visiting a loved one on the fourth floor possible.

02 / Operational efficiency

In an emergency, the lift is the corridor.

Equipment, lab samples and patient beds move between floors constantly, and in an emergency that movement is time-critical. Dumbwaiters and goods lifts take the routine load off the main lifts and out of the stairwells.

Good circulation also means less crowding — fewer human obstacles for a crash team to get through — and far less physical strain on staff carrying loads up stairs.

After the install

We do not fit your lift and leave you to it.

01
Lift maintenance

Packages tailored to usage, with 4, 6 or 12 visits a year. We spot the telltale signs of a declining lift before it becomes a fault that empties a ward corridor.

Silver or Gold recommended
02
Lift refurbishment

Lifts last around 20 to 25 years if looked after. At the first signs of decline, refurbishing the mechanics and the interior costs far less than the breakdowns it prevents.

Adds ~15 years of life
03
Lift repairs

Breakdowns happen on equipment used day in, day out. Repairs are included in our maintenance contracts, with engineers based across the UK to get there fast.

Case study · 2020

New NHS bed lift for the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital

The Acute Medical Unit is one of the North West’s busiest A&E departments. There was no version of this job where the unit closed — so we phased the work around ward activity and worked nights where the corridor had to be clear by morning.
